On this fourth instalment of their Schubert-Brahms pilgrimage, Pieter Wispelwey and Paolo Giacometti explore con icting faces of Romanticism. The haunted virtuosity and unsettling intensity of Schubert’s Rondo (D.895) is juxtaposed with the irresistible lyricism of Brahms’ Violin/Cello sonata Opus 78, and the profound sensuousness of his Opus 120/1 Clarinet/Viola sonata.
